About Me

Current Cameras: Nikon D300 and Nikon D50. I don’t have children or pets. These things are my babies.

Favorite Place Traveled To: Spain. The whole country is fantastic. I studied there for a summer and it was the best experience ever. I came back the States with tons of pictures, great memories, cute clothes and an amazing (American) boyfriend (who is now my husband)!

Favorite Photo Moment: While studying in Spain, my husband and I took a very spontaneous (booked the flight 23 hours before leaving!!) trip to Rome for the weekend. We got there in the evening, and the owner of the Bed and Breakfast place we stayed at gave us a map of the city and circled the places that were better to visit at night. Trevi Fountain was on the list, and by the time we ate dinner and got there, it was close to 2 in the morning. There were still people there! We threw coins in the fountain and sat and people watched for a while. Before we left to go back to the hotel, we snapped a few self shots of us kissing at the top of the stairs leading to the fountain. The flash was off, the picture is decently blurry, but I adore it. We said “I love you” for the first time the next day, and less than two years later, we’re married!

Why photography? I think photographs have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, my parents didn’t have a video camera, so my childhood was documented entirely by film. We have tons of albums full of great pictures, and I still look through them. I think there is something so timeless about a fantastic photo that can bring you back to a second you might have otherwise forgotten. While I appreciate the value of videotaping your daughter’s first dance recital so you can show it to the Grandparents, neighbors, mailman…I think it’s magical to be able to freeze the moment when she is waiting in the wings of the stage in her tutu biting her nails while looking simultaneously excited and nervous. That’s what makes photography so exciting for me. I like the challenge of getting a shot that in a split second can show you exactly who a person is, whether they are 5 or 105. My grandmother just passed away last year at age 97, and in the last year of her life, I was fortunate enough to make two trips to see her and take her picture. Our family now has a wonderful collection of pictures of her that we will cherish always.

Why Law School? I’d grown up my whole life wanting to make television commercials (specifically, Super Bowl commercials that everyone would watch!) and went to college in Florida. While there, I decided to not to limit myself to just Advertising in my major, and instead majored in Mass Media Studies, which allowed me to sample Advertising, Public Relations, and Broadcasting. I took a Mass Media Law class junior year, and I thought it was so interesting. With graduation not too far off, I decided it might be nice to stay in school a little bit longer… The entrance exam for law school (LSAT) doesn’t have any math on it like the GRE does for a Master’s Degree (I am NOT a math person) so I opted for law school over my Master’s. The experience has had it’s ups and downs, but I am glad I’ve stuck with it. Fun Stuff!!! However, don’t think that because I am in law school, I won’t have time for you! I am flexible, and we will definitely be able to work out a time for our photo session. My weekends are usually wide open!

Favorite Movie: Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Old school Jim Carrey is the best! My parents were pretty strict when I was younger, and I remember it was the first PG-13 movie I ever saw. My dad took me without telling my mom, and said I could see it because they filmed it in Miami (which was where we lived at the time) and that made it okay.
